12 Ways God
Empowers Your Wellness

Wellness culture sells women a body to fix. Scripture gives you a body that is already made, already good, already yours... empowered by God. These cards move through the dimensions of your wellness one at a time, and in each one they do four things: name the lie, answer it with Scripture, tell you the truth, and hand you one real step.

Part one covers four dimensions: Strength, Nourishment, Inner Health, and the Mind. Read them in order or land on the one you need today. This is your journey, Supernova.

Dimension 01 of 12 Strength Body

The Lie Strength training is sold to women as a "yes, but" project. "Yes, develop muscle, but still look like the societal version of "feminine." "Yes, gain muscle, but not too much muscle." Examine the words the industry hands women: toned, sculpted, lean, tight. Notice what is almost never there: strong. You are told to train so your body gets smaller and photographs better, which means even your strength gets graded by appearance. You can train for years and still be measured in the mirror (or scale) rather than by what your body can do now. Women's physical power and bodily capabilities are viewed as priorities only so much as they attract the "right" kind of attention… not for health, sport, or any other reason.
The Reframe Scripture is not shy about women with physically strong bodies. The woman of valor girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong (Proverbs 31:17), and those same arms work, provide, and reach out to the poor (31:20). And Paul describes training the body like an athlete in strict discipline, running to win and not beating the air (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). The body in these texts is meant to be capable, trained, and physically able.
The Truth God made your body capable of growing genuinely strong, and that strength is meant to be used, not hidden or apologized for. You get strong so you can lift, carry, work, move, and endure the physical demands of real life. Strength is capacity, the literal ability of your body to do hard things. It was never meant to be for photos and outfits.
The Step

Train for capability, not appearance. Pick one measure of physical strength that has nothing to do with how you look: how much you can lift, how far you can carry, how long you can hold. Work toward it meaningfully, listening to your body instead of the mirror.

Dimension 02 of 12 Nourishment Body

The Lie In the current wellness-sphere, eating is less about nourishment and more about punishment. Every meal a pass or fail, every food filed under clean or cheat, good or bad. What that moralizing produces is disordered eating, and the industry has learned to call it health. The restricting, the counting, the compensating, the ever-growing list of foods a woman will no longer let herself touch- behaviors that would be named as a disorder in any other setting- get praised here as discipline and clean living. Orthorexia gets rebranded as devotion to your body. And restriction breeds its own undoing: deprive a body long enough and it will eventually override you, at which point the same culture that starved you hands you the shame for breaking (and another "cure"). You do not need a diagnosis to have experienced this. Most women live somewhere on the spectrum, quietly negotiating with every plate. An anxious eater buys the plan, the powder, the tracker, the next protocol, so the industry has every reason to keep you distrusting your hunger and afraid of your food. Let's change that.
The Reframe Scripture never treats food as a test of your worth. God fed Israel with bread every morning in the wilderness and called it enough, and the ones who tried to hoard it, to control it, to out-manage the provision, are the ones who found it spoiled (Exodus 16). Daniel ate and thrived with no worth weighed against the plate (Daniel 1). Jesus taught his people to pray for daily bread, provision to receive rather than a verdict to earn (Matthew 6:11), and Paul says it outright: everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving (1 Timothy 4:4). Nothing rejected. The dividing of food into worthy and forbidden, the very engine of the disorder, is the thing Scripture refuses.
The Truth Your worth was never on the plate. It was settled before you ate a bite, by a God who made your body and called it good. Hunger is not the enemy to outsmart. It is your body doing exactly what it was designed to do, telling you what it needs, and God built that signal on purpose. You are allowed to eat without auditing yourself. You are allowed to trust the body he made you. What God wants for you is not a life spent negotiating with every meal. It is nourishment, received as the good and given thing it is.
The Step

If eating has become a place of fear, counting, or control, the most healing step is not another rule but honesty, and often not honesty carried alone. Tell one safe person the truth about your relationship with food. Loosen one restriction you know is fear rather than nourishment, and let feeding your body be an act of trust in the God who made it.

And if what you recognize here runs deeper than a card can hold, that is not failure; it is worth real help. The National Alliance for Eating Disorders runs a clinician-staffed helpline at 1-866-662-1235, and reaching for it is stewardship of the body God made, not a verdict on your faith.

Dimension 03 of 12 Inner Health Body

The Lie Your insides get sold to you one part at a time. Gut health here, hormones there, metabolism, adrenals, thyroid, blood sugar, each carved off into its own crisis with its own protocol, its own powder, its own subscription. And the fragmenting is the point, because a body broken into separate problems is a body you can sell to endlessly, one part at a time, forever. There is always another isolated system to fix, another imbalance you had not heard of yesterday. So, the quiet, connected work keeping you alive gets chopped into a dozen panics, and you are left believing your body is not one wondrous whole but a pile of malfunctioning parts, each behind, each billable.
The Reframe Scripture describes the body as something woven, not assembled from separable pieces. Job says God clothed him with skin and flesh and knit him together with bones and sinews (Job 10:11), one integrated structure of tissue and frame bound into a working whole. The Psalmist says the same of you: God knit you together in your mother's womb, that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, your frame not hidden from him as you were woven together in the secret place (Psalm 139:13-15). Knit, woven, bound together. And Paul calls the body a temple of the Holy Spirit, given by God, to be honored as his (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Not a pile of parts, but one wondrous, connected whole.
The Truth Your body is one integrated, interconnected whole, and it was made that way on purpose. Your gut, your hormones, your metabolism, your mind are not separate crises. They are woven together, each affecting all the others, working in concert to keep you alive. Tending it means caring for the whole, not chasing a dozen disconnected fixes. What God made is not a collection of failing parts. It is a single wondrous body, knit together thread by thread, where everything is connected to everything, by design.
The Step

When something feels off, ask what the whole system is telling you before singling out a specific body part. Rather than reaching for one more isolated protocol, tend the connected basics that serve every part at once: how you sleep, how you eat, how you move, how you handle stress. Care for the whole body God knit together, and let the parts be held by the whole rather than picked apart one purchase at a time. (Of course, seek a medical provider, too 😊.)

Dimension 04 of 12 Mind Mind

The Lie In too many faith spaces, a struggling mind gets called a spiritual failure. Anxiety means you are not trusting. Depression means you are not praying enough. The prescription is always more faith, as if the brain were a sin to repent of instead of an organ to care for. Wellness culture sells the secular cut of the same thing: think positive enough, optimize enough, manifest enough, and you would be fine. Both leave a woman alone with real suffering and a fresh dose of shame and stigma.
The Reframe When Elijah was so depleted he asked to die, God did not scold his faith. God let him sleep, sent an angel to feed him, let him sleep again, and fed him again, before a single word about what came next (1 Kings 19:4-8). Rest and food before instruction. And when Jesus says do not worry, he is not scolding either. Look closer at how he says it: consider the birds, look at the lilies, your heavenly Father knows what you need (Matthew 6:25-32). It is not a rebuke handed to the anxious. It is comfort held out to them, a Father pointing to how tenderly he already provides, lifting a weight rather than adding one. Paul says the same is true of the mind itself: God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The mind is God's to strengthen, never yours to be ashamed of or wrestle with alone.
The Truth Your mind is part of your body, and caring for it is stewardship, not weak faith. Help, treatment, rest, support: none of it is a spiritual failure. It is how you tend what God made. And "do not worry" was never a command to muscle your way out of anxiety by trying harder. It is an invitation to hand the weight to a Father who already knows, already sees, already provides. What God wants for you is not a performance of unshakable faith stretched over real pain. It is care, the kind he modeled by feeding a prophet before asking anything of him, and the kind Jesus offered by pointing the worried not to their own effort but to their Father's provision.
The Step

Take one concrete step toward caring for your mind. Make the call, book the appointment, and say the truth out loud to someone safe… pay attention to folks God places in your path to help. And when "do not worry" has been used to shame you, hear it again as it was meant: not a demand you are failing, but a Father offering to carry what was never yours to hold alone. Treat tending your mind as stewardship, because that is what it is.
